Event Details
Come join us for this hands-on workshop of building and learning how to use ecobricks, a building block made from plastic bottles stuffed with soft plastics. Around the world, people are using ecobricks to build things from planters to benches to entire schools, as a way to combat more plastic ending up in landfills or the ocean. On this Martin Luther King Jr. Day, spreading awareness about ecobricks and making them is a way for people to serve their community.
Kids and families are encouraged to attend!!
Drop in any time between 1:00 and 4:00 pm to:
*Get hands-on to make your own ecobricks and contribute to our student employee, Lucas’s, project of building a compost bin for the Center, to an upcoming art project in Kentucky, or take it home with you!
*Learn about constructing with ecobricks using a wire frame and enclosing material.
*Get information and resources about how to build your own ecobricks at home!
Materials will be available, but feel free to bring any clean and dry soft plastics you may have, especially 12 fl. oz. bottles and grocery bags!
