Restorative Forestry Demonstration Day

Come learn about the amazing work the Berea College Foresters are doing to keep Berea’s ecosystems healthy.

We will meet at the Forestry Outreach Center at 2:00 pm for an introduction and then walk together to see:
-A presentation by John Hite about Berea College’s team of draft horses, Willow and Holly
-The controlled burn area and hear about prescribed burns and the shortleaf pine initiative from Head Forester Clint Patterson
-A demonstration of horse logging by Ben Burgess and Jason Rutledge
-A demonstration on using the portable sawmill by Glen Dandeneau and Trey Prather
-The amphitheater and learn about the forester’s white oak initiative from Clint Patterson
