Join us to watch a play performed by our students and theater department, streamed right to your home!
The Theatre Department, and our very own Professor Barton, who wrote the play, realize the sensitive nature of this topic and is putting in place the appropriate measures to maintain accountability and, above all, respect. The play will be divided into 3 sections,
White – honoring memories of Breonna and her family
Blue – the interrogation of corruption at LMPD
Red – reflecting on why there were protests during a pandemic
Please note that this play is NOT a Breonna Taylor biography but a way for our students to express themselves creatively. This production is not about trauma voyeurism but acknowledging this story has not been completely written, and there are everyday reactions that need to be part of the story. We need to keep her name in our collective memory and reflect on how much work we still must do.
Performances are available for streaming 8pm Thursday – Saturday, March 18-20. All performances are free, and in lieu of a ticket charge, we encourage patrons to donate to the Breonna Taylor Foundation (www.breonnataylorfoundation.org) and Until Freedom (www.untilfreedom.com).
We hope to see you there!
Reservations can be made through the theature website: www.berea.edu/thr.
