The City Nature Challenge is a global community science event that mobilizes urban residents and visitors to observe, document, and celebrate the wild plants, animals, and fungi in and around urban areas. This focused and collective effort increases our awareness and understanding of urban biodiversity around the world. Learn more HERE.

Three Kentucky Counties are participating and competing to observe the most species, recruit the most participants, and contribute the most observations during this 4-day bioblitz. Join the challenge to help us document Kentucky’s biodiversity!’

How to participate

  1. Download the iNaturalist App
  2. Discover wild plants, animals, and fungi
  3. Take a photo of your find
  4. Share your observations on iNaturalis

Join one of our bioblitz events

    • April 29that Anglin Falls, and 5:30 pm
    • April 30th Pinnacles Bird walk at the Pinnacles at 10:00 am
    • April 30th at the Pinnicels at 1:00
    • May 1st at the Berea City Park (meet at the skate park) at 3:00
