Join us for a virtual book signing by Bill Best and his book Kentucky Heirloom Seeds: Growing, Eating, Saving. Bill Best is a former Berea College professor and has cataloged over 175 varieties of old-time beans and numerous heirloom varieties of tomatoes, which he preserves and grows on his farm just outside Berea, KY. He also helped establish the Berea Farmers market over three decades ago and helped organize the Sustainable Mountain Agriculture Center, a nonprofit center that promotes and teaches sustainable farming techniques and seed saving. His book explores the seed saver’s art and the practice of sustainable agriculture. We hope to see you there!
This event will be live-streamed on the Berea College Visitor Center Facebook Page, here
Berea College offers a high-quality education to academically promising students with limited economic resources. It awards every student a Tuition Promise Scholarship so that no Berea student ever pays tuition. Founded in 1855, Berea is the first interracial and coeducational college in the South and consistently ranks among the nation’s leading liberal arts colleges.
