Berea College students have been involved in the making of craft since 1893. As Student Craft looks to the future of the program, they are moving towards conscious representation of the amazing diversity that contributes to making Berea College so special in the world of higher education.
Berea College has long been guided by its Eight Great Commitments. These Commitments are now seen as essential to the work Craft students undertake. From the Forest Stool and Pinnacle Collection as representations of the College’s focus on sustainability, to the new Rainbow baby blanket and Glade Collection which celebrate the College’s founding commitment to diversity and inclusion, the Craft program is dedicated to bringing the Great Commitments and the experiences of our students to life through the art they create.
